LANDSCAPE ART

The size of my landscape pieces vary in sizes, ranging from 9x12" to 36x48". All acrylic. I started painting in early 2014, my senior year of high school. The first and current subjects of my paintings are landscapes, the vast majority are fictional - places I imagine. View previews below of some of my favorites.

Sometimes my travels inspire landscape paintings from around the world:

ART OF PATHOLOGY

These pieces represent transitions from healthy to unhealthy, and render the changes take place at cellular level in the development of an illness. Each piece is accompanied by a placard showing the real life microscopic and histological inspirations behind the painting:

CITYSCAPE SKETCHES

A short, impromptu series of cityscapes that started in Prague in 2015 during a health internship. With a ballpoint pen and a steno notepad, I started sketching the city during my breaks. My collection has grown with every new city I visit or live in. Drawings are all approximately 6x9".

portraits 1

A graphite portrait series of some of peers that were my inspirations and closest friends while I was a student at Duke University. Graphite on toned gray sketch paper. Each portrait took anywhere from 1-2 hours. All 30 were drawn over the course of a few days, during fall break of my last semester at Duke.

DIGITAL PORTRAITS

Digital portraits are drawn in editing software with a drawing tablets - just like drawing but with a stylus and a computer screen. Here are some of my digital portraits and snapshots of my process.

SHORT STORY COMICS

Occasionally, I create black-and-white, autobiographical comics. Most are short stories and musings revolving around different aspects of my personal life, insecurities, and relationships. The latest of which, Lamps, about my experiences being diagnosed and coming to terms with bipolar, is being published by Penn State University Press in an upcoming mental health anthology.

85 UNSEEN

85 unseen

I always wanted to write and illustrate a serialized graphic novel based on a science fiction fantasy concept I had been thinking about for years, but never had time to bring to life. Now called 85 Unseen, I released the comic in 2021 in form of a weekly webcomic which currently has over a thousand readers.

85 Unseen is illustrated in a vertical scroll format, designed to be read on mobile webcomic apps.

A scientist trying to get her powers back thinks she’s found a solution when she crosses paths with a fugitive on a quest to find the stars. Can they find the answers they seek before the Empire finds them? Or worse yet, before the very fabric of time and space unravels?
